Nominasi Oscar 2024: Oppenheimer Unggul, Lily Gladstone Cetak Sejarah, Greta Gerwig dan Margot Robbie Tak Masuk Daftar

The Academy telah mengumumkan daftar nomine unggulannya tahun ini. Sebagian (besar) tak jauh berbeda dari apa yang telah kita simak di Golden Globes ataupun Critics Choice, dan sebagian lagi cukup mengejutkan. Oppenheimer meneruskan kegemilangannya di sirkuit ajang penghargaan dengan meraih 13 nominasi Academy Awards ke-96; termasuk kategori Best Picture bersanding dengan Killers of the Flower Moon, Past Lives, Poor Things, Anatomy of a Fall, The Holdovers, American Fiction, The Zone of Interest, Maestro dan Barbie—hit box office berpendapatan terbesar tahun lalu. Daftar yang kurang-lebihnya juga telah diprediksi oleh para kritikus dan pencinta film dunia, meski kami tak menyangka The Color of Purple gagal masuk.
Sejumlah prediksi keliru lainnya yang tak diduga publik ialah ketika Margot Robbie, sang Barbie, tak masuk dalam daftar kategori Actress in a Leading Role. Lalu, absennya nama Celine Song dan Greta Gerwig sebagai nomine Best Director. Dari tiga sutradara perempuan yang karya filmnya melejit setahun terakhir, Justine Triet menjadi satu-satunya yang masuk daftar Best Director Oscar 2024. Triet akan berhadapan dengan Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer), Jonathan Glazer (The Zone of Interest), Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things), juga Martin Scorsese (Killers of the Flower Moon) yang memegang rekor nomine sutradara paling senior (dari segi usia di umurnya yang kini menginjak 81 tahun). Scorsese bukan satu-satunya pencetak sejarah, Lily Gladstone merupakan pemeran berdarah Indigenous pertama yang dinominasikan untuk penghargaan Actress in Leading Role.
Seremoni pengumuman pemenang Oscar 2024 akan dihelat di Dolby Theatre di Ovation Hollywood, Los Angeles, pada 10 Maret. Jimmy Kimmel akan kembali mamandu acaranya.
